General Visa Information

Indian passport holders traveling to Tanzania are required to secure a visa prior to entry or upon arrival.
Travelers may apply via the online eVisa system before departing or obtain a Visa on Arrival.
The standard processing time for an eVisa application is typically up to 10 days.
Applying online in advance is highly recommended to bypass long queues at the airport.

Essential Documents Checklist

Valid Passport: The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of entry and contain a minimum of two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
Photographs: Two recent, color, passport-sized photographs with a white background are required. For eVisa applications, a clear scanned headshot or digital photo must be uploaded.
Proof of Travel: Applicants must provide confirmed return flight tickets demonstrating their entry to and exit from Tanzania.
Proof of Accommodation: Confirmed hotel or lodge bookings are required, or alternatively, a formal invitation letter from a host or tour operator located in Tanzania.
Financial Proof: Travelers must show recent bank statements, proof of sufficient funds, or a formal sponsorship letter to cover all travel expenses during the trip.
Health Documentation: A Yellow Fever Certificate is mandatory for Indian citizens, particularly if traveling from or transiting through a yellow fever-endemic area.

Specific Category Requirements

Business Visa: Applicants must provide a formal cover letter from their Indian employer, an official invitation letter from the Tanzanian host company, and the host company's Certificate of Incorporation.
Student Visa: Applicants must submit an official admission letter from a Tanzanian educational institution, relevant academic transcripts, and proof of sufficient financial means to fund their studies.
