South Africa Visa Application Checklist
1. General & Mandatory Requirements
Core Identity & Application Documents

Visa Application Form: BI-84 Form completed and signed using black ink only.

Valid Passport: Must be signed by the applicant, contain at least 2 clear visa pages, and remain valid for at least 1 month after your intended return date.

Financial Verification Documents

Bank Statements: 3 months of personal and company bank statements up to the current date of submission.

Official Bank Letter: An accompanying letter from the bank confirming the account name, account number, and current account balance in figures. It must include the specific bank email and contact number of the responsible bank official.

Consent Letter: A signed letter permitting the South African High Commission to verify financial information directly with the bank.

Flight Reservations: Confirmed round-trip flight bookings.

Hotel Booking: Confirmed accommodation/hotel reservations.
Application Submission Notes

In-Person Submission: All applicants must submit their visa applications in person.

Group Applications: Complete, separate sets of supporting document copies must be provided for every individual application within a group.

Fees: A non-refundable Visa Fee of USD 36 (unless exempt) and a non-refundable VFS Service Fee of USD 80 (collected in UGX based on the daily exchange rate).
2. Requirements Based on Applicant Profile
Employed Applicants

Self-Employed Applicants

Minors (Children Under 18 Years)

Birth Certificate: Full birth certificate (must be carried in original format when traveling if the visa is issued).

Parental Consent Affidavit: Form signed and stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths (required if traveling alone or with only one parent).

Consent Letter: Formal letter granting permission to travel.

Parental Identity: Copies of both parents' valid ID cards or passports.

3. Requirements by Visa Category
Holiday / Tourist / Family / Friend Visitor

Applicant Letter: A signed letter from the applicant confirming the exact purpose and duration of the visit.

Marriage Certificate / Affidavit: Required alongside a supporting letter if a spouse is covering the travel expenses.
