Netherlands Schengen Visa Document Checklist
1. General Requirements (Mandatory for All Applicants)
Visa Application & Identity

Visa Application Form: Must be completed online via the official embassy website, downloaded, and signed.

Must be valid for at least 3 months after your intended departure date from the Schengen area.

Must contain at least 2 empty visa pages.

Travel & Financial Documentation

Flight Itinerary: Confirmed round-trip flight reservation or return tickets.

Intra-Schengen Travel Proof: Flight, train reservations, or car rental itineraries if visiting multiple Schengen countries.

Personal Cover Letter: Explaining the precise purpose of the trip alongside a detailed, day-by-day travel itinerary.

Bank Statements: Original statements showing account movements over the last 3 months, duly stamped and signed by the issuing bank.

Income Tax Returns (ITR): Acknowledgment copies for the last two consecutive assessment years.

Travel Health Insurance:

Must provide a minimum coverage of €30,000 for medical costs, emergency treatment, hospital care, and repatriation.

Policy must be explicitly issued in the applicant’s name and valid throughout the entire Schengen zone for the full duration of travel.

2. Profile-Specific Financial & Professional Documents
If Employed:

Original payslips for the last 3 months.

Valid employment contract.
-
No Objection Certificate (NOC) / Employer's statement approving holiday dates.
If Self-Employed:

Official certificate of company registration or business license.
If Retired:

Pension statements reflecting payouts for the last 3 months.

Proof of regular income generated by property ownership, investments, or business assets.
If Sponsored:

Official Proof of Sponsorship Form.
-
Formal Sponsorship Letter.
3. Civil Status & Minor Requirements

If Married: Marriage certificate (mandatory if the marital status is not officially updated or recorded in the passport). Copy of Ration Card, if applicable.

If Divorced: Official legal divorce papers/decree.

If the Applicant is a Minor:

Traveling with one parent: Notarized written consent from the non-traveling parent or guardian (except in cases of sole custody).

Traveling alone: Written consent letter certified by a public notary from both parents/legal guardians.

Supporting Identity: Clear copies of both parents' passports or official national ID cards, and the minor’s birth certificate.

4. Visa-Category Specific Requirements
For Tourist Visa Applicants (Accommodation & Hosting)

Hotel Booking: Confirmed hotel reservations or holiday rental agreements covering the entire stay.

Private Hosting: If staying with friends or family, an official Proof of Sponsorship and/or Private Accommodation Form filled out by the host.

Note: If visiting multiple Schengen States, proof of lodging is required for every night spent in the zone.

For Business Visa Applicants (Corporate Travel)

Official Invitation Letter: Issued by the inviting company or organization in the Netherlands.

Employer Cover Letter: A supporting letter from the applicant’s current employer.

Content Requirements: Both corporate letters must, at minimum, verify:

The applicant’s identity and role.

The explicit purpose of the journey (e.g., meetings, conferences, or corporate training).

The exact duration, dates, and locations of the intended business stay.

5. Post-Schengen Onward Travel

Onward Entry Permits: If you are traveling to a non-residence country immediately after leaving the Schengen area, you must provide a valid visa, residence permit, or passport granting entry to your final destination.
