Iceland Schengen Visa Document Checklist

Travel Documents

• Valid Passport: Must be issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area, and contain at least two consecutive blank pages.

• Passport Copies: Clear copies of the bio-data page, address page, all old or cancelled passports, and any previous Schengen, US, or UK visas.

• Photographs: Two recent color passport-sized photographs (35mm x 45mm) on a white background, featuring 80% face coverage and taken within the last 6 months.

Proof of Travel & Itinerary

• Schengen Visa Application: The printed and signed confirmation from the Iceland Government Visa Portal, along with the standard Schengen application form.

• Cover Letter: A formal letter detailing the purpose of your trip, travel companions, and a comprehensive day-by-day travel itinerary.

• Flight Itinerary: Confirmed round-trip flight reservations.

• Proof of Accommodation: Confirmed hotel bookings, camper van rental agreements, or guesthouse reservations covering your entire stay.

Financial Means

• Bank Statements: Original, bank-stamped personal bank statements for the last 3 months showing sufficient funds (a minimum of 8,000 ISK or approximately €55 per day).

• Income Proof: Income Tax Returns (ITR) or Form 16 for the last 2 to 3 years.

Travel Medical Insurance

• Insurance Policy: Must be valid across the entire Schengen area with a minimum coverage of €30,000. It must explicitly cover emergency medical expenses, hospitalization, and medical repatriation.

Employment & Economic Ties (Provide based on your status)

• Salaried Employees: An employment letter on official company letterhead stating your designation, salary, and approved leave dates, accompanied by your last 3 months of payslips.

• Self-Employed Individuals: Proof of business registration (e.g., GST, MSME, or incorporation certificate), business bank statements for the last 6 months, and ITR.

• Students: A bonafide certificate from your current educational institution and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) approving your leave.

• Retirees: A pension passbook and proof of recent pension credits.

Supporting Documents (If Applicable)

• Visiting Family or Friends: An official invitation letter and copies of your host’s passport and/or residence permit.

• Minors (Under 18): A birth certificate, copies of both parents' passports, and a notarized NOC if the child is traveling alone or with only one parent.

Important Note: All applicants must book an appointment and submit these documents in person to provide biometric data at an authorized VFS Global center in India.
